Our One Piece Odyssey beginner’s guide will help you drop into the game with tips on leveling up, speeding up fights, exploring the world, earning money, and equipping your characters for success. There are still a few things we’ve learned from our seven (or so) hours with the game that will help you get started faster and have a better time playing. It is, frankly, not a very complex or confusing game, though. Like I have played difficulty mods for several other games, including "hard" games like dark souls. One Piece Odyssey is a love letter to the series with moves, references, characters, and locations from across its 25 year history. I'll probably play the mod, just for fun, but after my first play through. It's not hard, but I am using items occasionally. I am still not level 20 and I am a couple hours into Chapter 2. There are real issues with the game, I just don't think difficulty is one of them. I'll fight a new enemy if I see it, but outside of that I am not engaging. If I can no longer progress, I will go back and farm. I am running past everything that is not required or unique. I don't think trash filler enemies are fun, so idc if its persona, smt, ff, or one piece. I never said anything about the game balance. Its bad balance to have a game where it is REQUIRED that you run past enemies to keep the game challenging. There are many JRPGs where you can do this, and spend time killing extra enemies if you want, and still have a challenge. If they dont want us to fight the enemies so that bosses are more of challenge then don't put enemies on the map. That was literally all i needed to be way over leveled. I just find that its a shame when the battle system seems really good but the fights don't really allow you to engage it much. I never said I fought 50 bats, I said I am a grinder, I never said I actually did any grinding at all. ![]() You sat here and fought 50 bats and started complaining because you're over leveled. you can literally run past most encounters. if you fight everything the game will be easy that's how rpgs work. The combat system actually seems pretty good, but i really dont see it getting any harder for a grinder like me. I like to engage the combat system as much as possible but if doing that literally makes every fight easy. But, i was level 20 again within the next 30 mins cause everything gives way to much exp. I personally would prefer the game to not be kinda easy on my first play through. I really REALLY doubt people know what they are doing when releasing such a mod one day after release.Įveryone should play the game the intended way and should look into this mod for some sort of "2nd run challenge" cause it can and will ruin the experience the first time through, It's already kinda exhausting, but since the fights don't last that long, it's still fine. Plus, there are challenges like "Win 20 fights in this place!", and that multiple times. Later on, it's all about finding the sweetspot to one-shot enemies or at least defeat them in one round. I'm all for a difficulty patch from people who developed the game, but not from random modders who just crank up some numbers based on data from the first chapter. but enemies with significant higher stats would ruin the flow of the combat.Įspecially since some larger ones already take quite the beating till they go down. Good luck with the "Deafeat this enemy in the first round!" challenges after finishing the first chapter.Īs people said, the first chapter was WAY too easy.īut in alabasta, the fights have the perfect length. ![]()
